To get started, head over to heymax.ai and sign up using your email address or your Google account. Signing up allows you to save your credit cards to your profile for quicker access to the most rewarding cards in your wallet.

(Option 1) Ask Max through chat directly

Max is the name of your credit card butler, who can respond to your request to find the right MCC and help you decide which credit card to use. Click on the middle "Chat" button, and you'll be able to ask away any credit card questions. Powered by GPT, your Max will grow to accomplish more personal finance tasks for you over time.

(Option 2) Step 1: Type in Search for the Merchant

You can also type in the merchant's name and select the country from the dropdown menu. Max will then search for the merchant's information, including their MCC.

Step 2: Review the Results

The search results will display various details about the merchant, such as their business and shop names, phone number, and address. This helps you identify the correct merchant. Additionally, the results will show the primary and additional MCCs associated with the merchant.

Step 3: Discover the Best Credit Card to Use

Based on the merchant and MCC information, Max will suggest the best credit card to use for your transaction. The platform will also show you how much other cards might earn for a given merchant, helping you decide whether to get a new card.

  • Max aggregates data from three sources to bring you the best results: 1) Crowdsourced data points, 2) AI inference based on merchant's public information, and 3) Max's collaboration with VISA to deliver accurate merchant data.
• Is Max free?
  • The current features will remain free for the foreseeable future. Knowing the best card to use is a big pain point for many, and we're lucky to be in the position to help solve this problem. In the future, Max will have a subscription available when more advanced personal finance automations are made available to you.
• Is Max available in my country?
  • You can use HeyMax to search for any merchant in your country by using the country filter.
