Hey Maxer (& curious to-be Maxer)!
Hope the week has been treating you well. Today we are back with another part in our mini content series about how HeyMax can help you in your Miles journey, in terms of redemption with a focus on FlyAnywhere.
ICYMI, here are the previous content chapters covered:
FlyAnywhere is one of the redemption options on HeyMax, where you can redeem commercial flights at 2¢/Max Mile*, no limits on the type of flight (domestic or international).
Compared to traditional bank redemptions, FlyAnywhere allows you to book virtually any flight you want outside of HeyMax, via any channel you choose: official airline websites, online travel agencies (OTA) like Trip.com, or even physical brick-and-mortar travel agencies.
If you view flights as a practical part of the journey, and are comfortable flying Economy or with budget airlines, FlyAnywhere could be a great fit for you. it helps you get the most out of every mile, even on the most affordable flights. But it’s not just for budget trips — FlyAnywhere works across virtually any flight booking platform, online or offline, so you have the flexibility to fly however you want, whenever you want.
Do note that you can only redeem the cash portion of any award flight booking via FlyAnywhere. This means that if you use a non-cash method to pay for your commercial ticket—such as vouchers, gift cards, airline credits—you are only eligible to claim for the cash portion of your payment when redeeming your Max Miles via FlyAnywhere.
For example, you’re looking to book a flight to Vietnam, Sapa in the later half of the year. You can find round-trip tickets as low as S$199 via Scoot, which works out to only 9,950 Max Miles.
Alternatively, if you seek the comfort of a full-service carrier like Singapore Airlines, it’ll be around 13,250 Max Miles — a great deal for the added experience.
After booking your flights, head to FlyAnywhere (under Redeem) and fill out the redemption form. You’ll need to upload your ticket receipt and provide your name and contact number. Be sure to use the same number linked to your PayNow account!
Redemption requests must be submitted within one month of your flight booking. Once submitted, we’ll reimburse your flight via PayNow at a rate of SGD 2¢ per Max Mile* within 3 business days.
If you booked your tickets using a foreign currency, HeyMax would convert the ticket costs to SGD at the spot rate before the redemption is processed.
Say, for example, you might have booked your ticket from Singapore to Bali at $165 on 17 April 2024, and made full payment in cash. This means that you need to submit your receipt by 17 May 2024 at the latest in order to get reimbursement from HeyMax. You can then proceed to submit your receipts via the FlyAnywhere form on the HeyMax app. Within the next 3 business days, HeyMax will reimburse S$165 via Paynow by deducting 8,250 Max Miles from your HeyMax account. For avoidance of doubt, this includes both the base fare as well as taxes and surcharges.
*2¢ per Max Mile rate is available for a limited time until 7 July 2025, after which, the rate goes back to 1.8¢ per mile.
You read that right 🥳From 7 April 2025, you can now redeem just a portion of your flight cost through FlyAnywhere. Here’s how it works:
It’s the same FlyAnywhere process you know and love, now with more flexibility for smaller balances. No need to wait to rack up a huge balance —you can now choose how many Max Miles you want to redeem from 1,000 Max Miles onwards!
Is FlyAnywhere available for all destinations?
Yes. FlyAnywhere works for any airline and any destination as long as you’ve paid in cash and submitted a valid flight receipt. It gives you complete freedom over how and where you travel.
How long is the 2¢/mile rate available?
The 2¢ per Max Mile rate is available for a limited time until 7 July 2025. While this is a limited-time offer, we’re planning more value-boosting opportunities like this as we grow the program.
How do I track my redemption requests?
You can track your past redemption requests in your “Miles History” tab.
